Your buyers / Neocloud

Neoclouds buy speed. Density is the ticket in.

GPU clusters with delivery dates already fixed by the chip vendor. They need 40–130 kW a rack, liquid cooling in the design, and a go-live measured in months, because every idle week is unsold compute.

What they need

The numbers they walk in with.

40–130 kWper rack

Direct-to-chip liquid cooling as standard, rear-door or immersion as the fallback.

1–10 MWper tranche

Smaller blocks than hyperscale, taken faster, with options to expand on short notice.

3–9 moto first load

The GPU delivery date is the deadline. The building has to be ready before the servers are.

₹ / kWhthe number they model

Power is the largest line in their cost of compute. The tariff decides the margin.

How they buy

Four gates. Each one can end the deal.

  • Capacity huntFounders and infra leads canvass the market directly. Response time is the first filter.
  • Technical fit, in a weekCan the hall do the density, the loop, the floor loading and the ramp? Yes or no, with drawings.
  • Commercials and creditThey are young companies. The operator has to structure deposits, guarantees and ramp risk, not just quote a rate.
  • Install and energiseThey arrive with racks, not plans. Loading dock to live cluster is the service they are buying.
What stalls the deal

Where we have watched it go wrong.

01

Retrofit-only density

A legacy air-cooled hall with a liquid loop bolted on. They can tell, and they price it accordingly.

02

A slow go-live

A twelve-month build against a four-month GPU delivery is a no, however good the site.

03

Power cost

A tariff that works for colocation can break a neocloud's unit economics.

04

No answer on credit

Operators who cannot underwrite a two-year-old company lose the deal to one who can.
